Carnage 2011

Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz

Roman Polanski directs Golden Globe nominees Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet, with Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly, in this razor sharp, biting comedy which centres on parental differences. After two boys duke it out on a playground, the parents of the 'victim' invite the parents of the 'bully' over to work out their issues. A polite discussion of childrearing soon escalates into verbal warfare, with all four parents revealing their true colours. None of them will escape the carnage.

As the four adults meet to settle the dispute, power couple Nancy and Alan Cowan (Winslet and Waltz) come up against the liberal writer and campaigner Penelope Longstreet (Foster) and her wholesaler husband, Michael (Reilly). Unpredictable and shocking, the story hilariously exposes the hypocrisy lurking behind their polite facade.

An adaptation of the smash comedy play 'God of Carnage' by Yasmina Reza, which has won awards at both the Olivier Awards and the Tony Awards, including Best Play and Best Direction of a Play.
